Serial # is 02C12839. I'll try to get some better pics soon, if I can stop playing it long enough. Check out the Featured Custom archive for more details. Thanks to the artists who worked on this masterpiece and everyone else at Alembic! ~Dan

Beautiful guitar!!

Dan - that's an awesome guitar! Congratulations. I'd love to hear how it compares to your Skylark.

Thanks Dave. It is even better in person because the color is much darker purple than in the pics.
Tom,
It is a completely different beast from my Skylark. The scale is 25.5 and neck is wide and very thin. The sound is fantastic! I love the sound of the Skylark, but the Series II electronics have such a great sound with a rounder, less squishy bass response (the tone block probably has a lot to do with that). I don't think I'll ever let go of this guitar. I love it!
Thanks,
Dan

I looked here because I saw PLUM PUDDIN' and I'm on a serious diet. I didn't see any pudding but the GUitar looks great. I usually not too fond of the color versions but I like this one.
I bet it looks even better in person.
Congrats MAN!

That's not a color, that's natural wood.
Valentino
-
Natural wood?! That explains why it looks so good. That is amazing.
-
I checked it out on the featured cutom list. I think it looks better now. Either aging has changed it or it could be the photos here represent the true color better. Eitehr way it look great!
-
What a fantastic guitar! Makes you wanna play! Do you have pictures of the whole guitar including headstock?

What a superb looking instrument!!
I'm really trying to find out the effects of these different woods on the tone of an instrument----especially basses
Can anyone give me a run down without it involving an honours degree in rocket science????????
-
Oh right, Bill, I failed to make the connection because the colors are so much more intense here.
I do remember I listened to the sound of a series guitar when I visited the Alembic shop in 1996, but I cannot remember what it sounds like. Are there any sound examples somewhere?

Where can I hear this beauty?

New York, or you could buy it from me ;^)
