Title: Bradley's Epic 4 fretless
Post by: Bradley Young on November 04, 2006, 09:46:54 PM
At long last, I'm the proud owner of an Alembic.  It's an Epic 4 fretless.  Before Paul starts asking:

Bradley, congrats.  That's beautiful.  I like the bookmatched top.  I would love to have a fretless electric, too.

Congrats!  Very nice piece of Mahogany; and the diamond shape on the bookmatch Maple is cool.

Dude, I have an Epic 5 fretless and i love it but i luv yours because you have marker lines!!!!!
Mine is like a black mirror, only some dots on the side!!! This did forced me to learn hand/finger position theory and listen for the note instead of looking ( more like upright bass)
But Id luv to have lines on my finger board - cherish that bass my friend!

Ps I thought Alembic Only did unlined fretless!!!

robbie - they'll do anything you want. My rogue is lined but I could have had tiny fret markers along the edge instead if I'd wanted. It takes alot of confidence to play a blank fingerboard.

And a good ear too! Of course, LED markers really help too! (Read: add FretFX for under $80 bucks!)

Yep Jacko, & Kris - You better know a piece inside out before you play it in public on a blank board - i learned that the hard way! lol
