Title: Applewood bass
Post by: quadrogong on February 24, 2006, 08:44:09 PM
i owned an applewood bass during the same time I ordered my coco guitar.it had a large point body,5 string, with a cool greyish burly wood top described to me as applewood a yellowish-grey color. truly a dream bass that I let go because I couldn't deal with a 5 string at that time,I die a little bit every day thinking about some of the beautiful axes I traded, sold throughout the years..if I still had the applewood,I'd never let her go again..has anyone seen this bass,or seen any others with this type of wood top?

Wow, a little bit late to add to the thread but that description sounds more like burl buckeye than apple.  Best of luck.

We made a small amount of instruments (2-4) with Applewood. yes - it's really from an apple tree and very, very pretty. Sadly, this was before I was taking pictures of every instrument. I do know that I will recognize one of these in an instant if I ever see one again.
