Title: Black 1983 Spoiler

Here is a picture of my black '83 Spoiler. I bought this about 6 years ago, if I remember correctly. It's got great big tone (naturally), and sounds a lot like Jason Newsted's bass tones from the early '90s, if I want it to. But of course can do a lot more. I happen to like the all black finish, but I do feel the need for a nice natural finished Alembic...one of these days!

There was a black Spoiler on eBay some time back billed as one made for Prince and his combo. Best of my recollection it was discussed that Prince had several Spoilers painted black. Very nice!

Yeah, these black beautys are awesome!  I almost got a black Spoiler like this for my second bass/1st serious bass many years ago... I just didn't quite have the money, and I ended up getting a really nice white Fender Precision Elite instead.  (Opposite extreme.)  It was actually an incredibly awesome 4-string... for a bolt-on neck, non-Alembic... I still miss it... but when I got my first Alembic -a 6-String Quilted Maple Elan Plus (which was stolen -and I'm only days away from getting a replacement bass) I just didn't have any further use for it... but it was a little sad selling it.

As a highly slagged fan and owner of 3Black Alembics one almost black and 2 on the way, Congrats and welcome to the fold. Viva Los Bassos Negros!

Your spoiler is Cliff burton's style??And can give me some more details for Cliff's bass for me,becoz I'm very like Cliff Burton!!!!!^.^
P.S May I know your Aria Pro 2 SB1000CB is made in where???And if i want to custom one is made in where???thx a lot........

This is exactly the same as the one Cliff used. (mine comes close, but is refinished by myself)
Try to find a Aria SB Black 'n Gold I, that was Cliff's favorite Aria and they play/sound amazing.

Hi cliff_5354, fc_spoiler is right about the thread on TB. Anyway, yeah the Spoiler is like Cliff's! It's a great bass. But so is the Aria Black 'n' Gold I. My SB-1000CB is made in Japan but of course it's a re-issue and not exactly what Cliff played in 1986.

hi , i?m newie in here, my name is nuno and i live in portugal. and i am a huge fan of Cliff Burton (RIP) sound, and i wanted to know where i could find an old ALEMBIC SPOILER in BLACK or similar at a nice price , i really want to buy that bass.
I am searching also for the ALEMBIC JASON NEWSTED SIGNATURE BASS 4 STRINGS LTD - BLACK.  
And i?m also searching for the Aria SB ELITE BLACK N GOLD 1 in BLACK.... could you help me
