Title: Pickups and fingerboard radius
Post by: robochrist on June 24, 2012, 08:39:31 AM
Alembic uses a 12 radius for all it's fingerboards. If I wanted to order a bass with a custom neck radius, something radical like a 7 1/4 radius, and assuming the string height would be set up properly with this radius in mind, would there be a problem with string to string volumes (like the centre strings) using Alembic pickups?

I don't think that volume would be an issue, but tone might.

The Classico has a tight radius, such that it can be bowed, and the pickup scheme has been designed to accommodate that.  I'm confident that whatever radius you specify, the elves will make sure that the pickups will be happy.
