Title: My new (to me) Essence 6 in Quilted Maple
Post by: tomhug on July 06, 2008, 08:17:36 PM
I got this about a year ago, to complement my 4 string Series I. [http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/53445.html?1215399308]

Great balance, both sonically and physically.

Strange phenomenon, though. Now my 4 string, long scale Series I seems like quite a reasonable bass to get around on. It always used to seem, well, big.

Reminds of when I switched from my Suzuki 550 to riding a Harley-Davidson Road Glide - That  Suzuki always seemed so, well, big. Until the HD touring class came along (but that's a topic for another forum, I guess.)

Tom-
Your motorcycle comment is right on target around here.  Mention motorcycles and beer in the same sentence and you'll be amazed at the response ;)

Nice quilt on that essence!

Welcome to the club Tom.

Very nice axe, I bet that long upper horn balances it out real well.

I like your S-1 and choice of MC.

Nice top on a nice bass!  Fretboard looks pretty cool too!

Nice Bass, Tom. I own a Rogue but my dream is to get one Essence 6 string. I think Essence is the finest Alembic's body shape, tiny and accurate. Does it balances well, Tom?
