This is my Alembic Orion 5 with bocate top. Bought it three years ago in Germany. SN 980W11438

jure,
very nice. that's first example of bocate with any discernable wood grain I've seen, a nice complement for the mahogany.

Boy, was it all shiny back then. Now the tailpiece is getting black and the bridge is almost completely brown. The wood shines a bit more, because the finish has worn off, but it still plays like a dream.

Jure; some folks like that aged look and some don't. If you've got the time, you can completely disassemble the bridge and polish it up with Flitz. It usually takes me a while to complete this project; endlessly polishing very small pieces can be tiresome on the eyes and fingers. At the same time, I put just a little bit of household oil on the intonation screws.

Nice Converse AllStars!

Do the shoes have the electronics upgrade?

Hmm, hard to tell from this shot... but at least they're the high tops - all I ever had were the low ones, and in white (more than 30 years ago, sigh).
It's a really cool photo, just a funny depth of field problem that seems to draw the eye right to the shoe, leaving those of us in the know to hunt out the Alembic logo. But the smile is a good clue.
