1991 4 string Medium Scale Edwin van Huik Signature bass
Flame walnut top
Maple body
Edwin (version 1) body shape with body contour and extended round elbow cut
Ebony fretboard with pearloid oval inlays
3 piece maple neck 32 without pinstripes
Crown peghead with Edwin signature decal  
2 AXY pickups
Custom Series I electronics: volume, pan, filter x2, 3-position Q switch x2, on/off switch
Brass hardware with sustain block  
Bird tailpiece
Alembic Schaller gold tuners
Clear gloss polyester finish

Wilfred, congratulations.  I haven't seen an EVH on this side of the pond.  Sure do like them though.  I have heard Edwin's on mp3.  Very nice sound.

Because I know you're into photography: don't you think the pictures worked out great, sunny afternoon, no flash used, with a relatively 'simple' digital camera?

I like the shape at the end of the body, how it flows with the same lines as the bird tail-piece.  And I'm sure that the round elbow cut makes it really comfortable to play.  Enjoy!!

It took a while for my new Glockenklang 'The Passenger' combo amp to arrive, but (ladies and gentlemen) I can now proudly present my #1 rig, consisting of the EVH with the dynamic amp duo I've christened 'Double Dutch'...

Snow, eh? I've heard of that. Paul TBO said the same thing about winters in Belgium not long ago. Wonder why that is?
 
While this thread is about your EVH, your Orion is very nice also. I'll bet they sound great through the Glockenklang.

Well, tomorrow this beautiful bass will be back with me. I'm actually really looking forward to go and pick up an instrument that's already mine. Strange but true. I'm relieved that it wasn't sold yet when I decided I didn't want to sell at all. This situation begs for a 'rediscovery of your Alembic'-topic actually...

Hi what a threesome !. Is that a Sei bass in the centre.What does it look like in colour ?.I know this is an Alembic site but I was looking at some examples of Martin Petersons work last week when I bought my Alembic from The Gallery.

Thanks Kevin, in fact it's a Benavente, specifically the same instrument that was tested in the March 2003 Bass Player magazine. The top is Cookies & Cream Buckeye Burl (seriously, I didn't make that just up) and it's a great instrument altogether.

Wow that really is something - I know that guitars are meant to be played but what really gets me is when they're works of art as well.That's why I like the Alembic basses so much.The same goes for my Warwick thumb which seems to me to be very organic in the way it is sculpted.I also have a Status Kingbass on the way which is modern technology fused with beautiful woods.The Sei bass I refered to is called a single cut.There's one on the Gallery website.

Yes, it's a satin finish. IMHO it's one of the things that make the Orion a very 'earthy' and 'natural' instrument. The EVH is the 'glossy' one in this picture. BTW I love the slight flaming on your Orion, very pretty bass!
