When I bought this beast (used) Mica told me it was a "John Paul Jones (JPJ)" model. Triple omega cutouts, Anniversary electronics, and a killer "mutant maple" top. I sold her after a couple of years -- I wonder where she is today?

She is in Minneapolis right now. I just sold the 5 string brother (93C7763), which I think was also yours, through Bass Northwest. I decided to stick with a four string and have a Spyder, lined-fretless, on order due next month.

Oh man, that is such a cool bass. What's she sound like? I'm a huge fan of the triple O shape but it's taken me over 20 years to see one in the flesh!(and unfortunately it still doesn't belong to me!)

Shaun, I love this bass, someday you WILL have one! The sound is fantastic. I use Thomastik Infeld Flatwound Jazz strings tuned BEAD for a very fat sound.

(Didn't mean to post this twice, or am I seeing double?)

Landskov, you are one lucky guy! You may be seeing double but if I owned that bass I think it would affect my vision too! As for owning one, trust me, I'm working on it!

I am the proud owner of this bass now and have enjoyed all of the expertise that Steve's been able to shed about Alembics! It's an amazing player and cuts through the mix well.
I'm using it now with Dean Markely Blue Steels that are nice and smooth, but wondering if DRs will give it a bit more twang.

Congratulations Ken, it's a beautiful bass. BTW I love Dean Markely Blue Steels.

I think we saw this bass in this thread:
-
Yes, I saw that thread. Too bad it got separated from the flight case somewhere along the way.
Still digging this beast!

I am pretty sure I was the original owner of this bass. I custom ordered it after I bought a walnut one that I saw at the factory which was being made for the NAMM show. I liked it so much, I ordered this one in mutant maple shortly after.

Meet the new owner, Lanis (the guy on the right). He's thrilled!

Actually this baby is mine now, but it's about to change hands again. It's much too nice for me to play, and it is still in immaculant condition!

It's great to be the proud new owner of this amazing instrument. I can't put her down.
