Loving my new-old Alembic (as you can tell by the cheesy "new bass grin!") The custom neck on this Elan is the most comfortable I have played, and the signature electronics provide an amazing array of tone. Best of all, it's not nearly as heavy as it looks! Well balanced and comfortable, I have found my "holy grail bass!" top: Flame Maple body: Mahogany shape: Elan neck: 5-piece Maple with 4 Walnut pinstripes scale: 34" long fingerboard: Ebony, 2.125 x 3.125 Custom width inlays: none pickups: MXY56 controls: volume, pan, filter x2, Q-switch x2, mono output (Signature) birthday: May 2, 1996

Congrats!
Beautiful piece.
And might that be a Fender Super Bassman rig lurking in the background - ?
If so, how do you like it?
-
Thanks!
It's actually a 1965 Band Master that I picked up off the local classifieds. I don't gig it, but love the tube/Alembic tone combo.

Wow - that's in ridiculously good condition. It looks virtually new (like the bass).
I've used a Super Bassman a few times and, IMO, it was a good match with an Alembic w/signature electronics.
Haven't yet had the opportunity to use one with my Series II, so can't comment on that combination.

Many years later, the bass is still my #1 - I love the way it sounds!

Sounds really good, it also reminded me to put that track back on my band setlist for a gig next year as we have a guest vocalist.
Can't say I have ever seen an elan with the cone style headstock.
