Title: Custom Rogue 5 - SN: 08Q13852
Post by: briant on March 28, 2008, 08:23:52 PM
Here are some pictures of my new Rogue 5 string.  The pictures don't even begin to do it justice; but they're a starting point. :-)

You must be a happy camper!

What's the initial report on the signature + bass/treble control setup?  Worth the cost when compared to the Signature setup in that lovely triple O?

I'm diggin' the LED's

That quilt is awesome and the blue LED's are icing on the cake. Congratulations.

Initial report on the electronics:  SO glad I opted to do that.  I'll need to do a full How Much I Love This Instrument report sometime tomorrow - I'm doing my first gig with it this evening so we'll get 3+ hours of quality time together.

With its combination of electronics, body style, and woods, this is a great bass!

I played my first gig with it last night.

It is amazing and exceeded my expectations.  I can't express how wonderful this instrument really is.  So I'm not even going to make a feeble attempt to do so.

The two things that I'm so extremely glad that I did that I almost didn't do:

1. Adding the master bass and treble controls.  The options that they add to the tonal palette are just wonderful.

2. The ebony neck stripe.  The amount of low fundamental and sustain this thing has is another notch above the JPJ.

I love the sound with the Sansamp, very cool JE sound. I've been a Chris Squire fan since the 70's. In case you haven't heard yet, Yes is touring this year. Here's their tour dates...

So, is Siberian Khatru on your band's setlist?

Nope.  Just one of the many many random songs that I know for no particular reason.  That just popped into my head when I was trying to think of stuff to demo this bass with.

I'm pretty sure it's signature + LEDs + bass and treble knobs.

Sorry for not seeing this earlier.

The above is correct.

Click for diagram of the layout (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=7554).  The only thing that changed from the last labeled one from Mica is the LED on/off got moved down to the bottom.
