Now mine, for 4 years. Alembic says: top and back: Schedua body core: Mahogany neck: Maple, Beech, Purpleheart fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl inlays originally made for: Rothchild birthday: August 4, 1977 The bass was repaired in 1978 under warranty. The frets were dressed, it received a new string nut, and the bass filter knob was replaced. There was a more major servicing in 1982. The bass got new truss rods, fingerboard, bridge saddles, string nut, humcanceller, strings, setup, and 1-1/2 hours of refinishing labor. I bought it from a guy in Memphis who was at least the 2d owner. It shows its age in the finish (checking, etc.) but that's just mojo, as far as I'm concerned. Only thing wrong with this instrument is that it makes me want the prettier ones. With Thomastik-Infeld Jazz E-Bass flatwounds, it is just plain gorgeous.

Gene, check out the pics of the 2 Series basses in the Gigs/MacAttack area. My friends Series I s/n is very close to yours, that Flame Koa looks very close. Yours is quite the head turner.
