I'm the latest person to have the privilege of owning Rob's 36" scale custom 5 string! Lots of ebony in the neck and lots of beautiful coco bolo on the front and back. It's big, it's beautiful, and it's heavy, but ooohhh how it sounds...

Was this one at the Chicago gathering? It looks real familiar.
-
Yes it was. And a random comment by me was what started the whole transaction!
-
Damn! That is a magnificent bass!
I want one baaaaaaaad!!!!!
Just like it!!!!
Most excellent!!!! Super KUDOS on such a marvelous transaction!!!
I have a friend that is a bass player, we were at a cookout with a bunch of other musicians and he said that he's going to buy a used corvette for 10,000 dollars. I told him that if I had 10 grand that I would have to buy a 5 string Series Alembic and get a beat up chevy wagon so I could pack my gear in it to get to gigs. The room got deathly quiet and the incredulous blank stares at moi began. Have no fear my Alembic brethren, I didn't blink and stared em' all down!
Slap it low bro'!!!

Loch!
I remember seeing that bass in Chi-town and couldn't stop myself from carressing the 'pistol grip' horn on it,,, beautiful! Congrats on being the very proud owner!
Have no fear my Alembic brethren, I didn't blink and stared em' all down!
Chalie - you crack me up :-)
The incredulous blank stares that you were getting where probably accompanied with thoughts such as...
Olympic? Why would he want a Series Olympic,,, isn't once every four years enough?
-
Yo Pauldo!
Ha! You give me the giggles too homie!
They probably asked..Why would he go to Greece to buy a bass?
-
Loch:
Absolutely gorgeous bass! Congrats. ENJOY!!!!
Bill, tgo

I'd love to have tons of fun! But when the stock market tanked it f***ed me good or I would have bought one! Thus, I can only dream about owning one of those fantastic axes!

What a fantastic beast ! Enjoy it Loch, this is a great buy !

Oh, how I miss not living around you, Guys...

Fantastic looking bass. I can relate to the weight of your bass as my Series II five is an anchor, weighing in at 15.6 lbs. But nothing and I mean nothing sounds like it. Even with a 4 wide Moody leather strap I end up holding it up during a mass (between songs) to get if off my shoulder. No pain, no gain. Enjoy it.
