It's so incredibly beautiful...it's already giving me ideas for the next one.  I love the continuous wood theme...pickup covers, knobs, plates....  I can't wait to actually hold it and and hear what such a creation sounds like.

What an absolutely incredible looking bass!!!  
I am very curious what kind of woods are used on this bass. The top and back look stunning. And how did they make the continuous wood on the pickup covers and the knobs?

Thanks...It's all Macassar Ebony top & back.  Purpleheart neck with Ebony laminates. I conceived it and they made it happen.  How they did it...only they know!
It's going to be a featured custom.
Can't wait!

Hi Rami,  I checked with James and he says it won't be too much trouble too add a first fret oval inlay. Do you want just slightly larger than oval at the third fret?  As to Duncan's question, we do these much like the continuous wood backplates.

  Before the laminate is glued on, we have glue the bookmatch together and plot out all the positions, then scroll saw the pieces for the plates or covers and reserve them.   For the truss rod cover and pickup covers, we don't glue the top together first.

  Since this was the first time we did continuous wood pickup covers, we did a test cut for the bridge block area (the bottom piece in the picture).  Everyone here thinks that Rami's bass looks wonderful. I just had a good customer of ours drop in and while he was here, I showed him Rami's bass, and of course he loved the pickups. I can tell that Simon's custom bass is going to share this feature.

As we dicussed, I'd like that 1st fret oval slightly larger for the sake of proportioality and balance.
 
With this bass, I feel like I've contributed a little something to the Alembic history books!

It's absolutely stunning!!!  I can't think of anything right now to top it.  I just wish I had thought to have the pickup covers on the first one done the same way.

There's always a chance - but the bass is the boss, and he'll dictate when we can ship. We're one man short in the setup room the rest of this week, so I hope we can stay on schedule for you.
 
The black strings for the fretless are supposed to arrive tomorrow.

That is beautiful.  
All that dark wood is so Cool.
The grain on the body is phenomenal.

Mica,  my fingers are getting VERY Itchy to hold them!  Are the strings in yet?
 
That first fret inlay looks very nice!  See all these little first time details I've added?   That's gotta be reason enough to feature them!
 
I'm still crossing my fingers in the hope that they can ship Monday!
