I was doing some research on the Aria Pro II Rev Sound guitar, specifically the RS-850 model. This is a guitar from the late 70's/early 80's sporting hippie sandwich construction and an 18 volt Series I type electronic package. A couple of sources claimed that Alembic provided the pickups and maybe the electronics to the renowned Matsumoku factory in Japan which built the Aria (along with other brands, including Ibanez). Anyone have any info on this? (especially Mica). The Aria is a very nice guitar, obviously Alembic-inspired, (check out the inlays and the tailpiece), and the electronics do seem to act like like a Series I. Here's some info on the Aria Rev Sound Series (http://www.matsumoku.org/models/ariaproii/rs1/rs1.html).

We supplied Alembic pickups and electronics to Aria for their Rudy Sarzo bass model. These were made in the 1980s, and we always had a really good relationship with Mr Arai.

Funny, was just reading up on that guitar yesterday. I had a 750 for awhile (with passive electronics) - great guitar.

Gotto love those Matsumoku made instruments, they offered extremely good bang for the buck and were nearly indestructible
