Title: What about boost/cut switches?
Post by: mario_farufyno on May 17, 2013, 08:38:33 PM
A lot has been said about the filter and Q switch, but I was curious about which frequencies lo and hi boost/cut switches present on Rogues are centered. Are they shelving or bell filters?

Mario,
This is a good question. If anyone has any input are the boost/cut switches on a Distillate the same? Being that the Distillate was the Europa/Rouge predecessor? From what I understand the only difference between the 2 electronically is a Pan on the Europa for the pickups the Distillate has a switch.

I checked the FAQ pages, you have to combine the info from the Epic, Excel and Orion basses ? Controls (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=235) page:
The bass and treble controls are asymmetrical, +6dB and -15dB, centered around 100Hz and 5KHz.

... with the info on the Europa & Rogue Basses ? Europa Controls (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=238) page:
The quick tone switches are bass and treble and are not individual switches for the pickups. Each switch provides 6db boost, flat, and 6db cut.

So that would make it -6/0/+6dB at 100 Hz and 5 kHz.
