Excellent! I am totally psyched to fire this baby up, can't wait til it's done. The months are going to crawl by.
-
It's in carving. Here, Cody is starting to fit the continuous wood backplates:

It's looking good!
-
Awesome! Looks great, I'm really psyched! Thanks for the heads up, made my day.
-
That looks really nice!
-
Thanks, looking forward to the next batch of photos. I really like the process of this, from picking the woods to seeing it take shape. It's really neat.
-
Lookin' Schweet, Pete!
-
Thanks! While wating for updates I checked out your 6 string custom, looks like it'll be a monster. That's a crazy neck.
-
Lots has happened since the last photos. It looks like your bass will be ready to rub out in a couple of days:

Wow, just as I was really jonesing for more pics, here's some great stuff! Thanks for the progress update, the wait is excruciating but worth it.
-
Beautiful!
-
Thanks! Man, do I want to see (and play) the finished product!
-
Hi Mica,
Any updates? Any new pics? Dying to see where we are.
THanks!
Pete

The rubout is complete, it's in the setup room, just waiting for electronics to go in now:

The hardware is back from the plater. James has been at a class all week, so there's a bit of stuff for him to catch up when he's back on Monday. Your bass should be on my dad's bench for the calibration by April 12.
-
Holy moly! That looks mean. Wow.
Thanks for the update! My birthday is April 13, so that is nice for the calibration.
-
I forgot we were waiting for the goldplated hardware . It's back and we've got it loaded. Now we just need the guts, and calibration:

Hang in there!
-
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. So close yet so far! Gaaa gaa gaaa gaa
-
Pretty impressive!
Don't fret, Pete... it can't be too much longer, now!
-
Gorgeous!
-
heh heh heh....that guy knows exactly what he's doing to you bro, look at that mischevous grin.
I should upload the early pics from our visit, too, eh?
-
Thanks guys, I am totally psyched.
Yeah Meli, go ahead. And you're right, James there is being evil!
Soon, I will have the power....well, I will after I figure out a good rig to play it through.
-
That's an easy one... Glockenklang!
-
Glockenlang? Have to look into that. I notice lots of people using the QSC stuff as a power amp and I want the stereo pre-amp. What does the 5 pin cable plug into? For cabs I've got 2 Ampeg 4x10s...
-
I believe the 5 pin cable plugs into your external power supply, which would then plug into the amp of your choosing.
Anyway, I love Glockenklang. They are high end German made amps/cabs. Very pure sounding - a perfect compliment for Alembics because they will let you hear exactly how the bass sounds.
