These bookmatches are going to look so cool when the finish hits, I can hardly wait!

Oh yes !
I love the grain , you can get lost in it ____________________

Isn't mother nature an amazing artist.

Yes , and such a remarkable cycle of cause and effect a continuous cycle of the celebration of beauty. Mother nature created both us (people) and the beautiful wood. The Artist Craftsman (Alembic) creates exemplary musical instruments so that we can make and present sonically refined music for our Zeitgeist brethren .
It's just SWELL ! ______

I love it. The character will explode when the finish hits it. WoW!
This is going to awesome.
Thank you Mica.

Mica, Any pictures or progress updates would be greatly appreciated.

WOW! That's just an incredible piece of walnut. I'm so jealous, i can taste it!
You're going to love the way this looks when done. Congratulations (early)
Mike
-
Thanks Mike, I am sitting on pins and needles waiting to see more of this. I think it will be very special.
-
I hope Mica has time to snap a couple of photos for the build record. It is so cool to be able to see your Alembic in the build process.
I will keep the faith.
-
All has been very quiet.
Does anyone know how things are going?
Any feed back will be much appreciated.
-
We had to fit your bass into the backlog in the assembly department (the original one is already in rubout!). Should be something worth photographing next week. I am keeping an eye out for you on it.

I saw the body laminates all staked up last week:

And Kris arranged a little preview with the neck:

Another reason I love walnut so much. I can't wait to see this under some finish.

The grain pattern looks really nice in the clamp shot!

These snapshots don't even begin to show how awesome this bass is.

I knew this piece of walnut would be sweet under some finish. Congratulations Terry, that's a beautiful top.

WOW! That is a work of art.
The finish made the character of the wood explode.
I can't wait to get my hands on this bass.
I thank all of you working on this bass. You are the best.
-
Does anyone know when this bass will be ready for delivery?
-
Hi Terry,
You bass is in setup now, though I think there may be one or two instruments in line before it:

When it's ready to ship, we'll let you know.

Part way through setup:

There's still more work to do and final inspection, but it's getting pretty close.
-
AWESOME!!! This is Sweet.....
-
does anyone know how long this bass will be in setup?
-
Any news on how this bass is coming along?
-
It's strange how naked an instrument looks without the strings on.
-
I would like to size the neck down a bit. I spoke with Susan about this. I would like to narrow the neck at the nut to the 1.65 and taper it like a Stanley Clark bass. I know you need more info. Please call me at your nearest convenience. I would also like to discuss the color of the mahogany back. Can this be darkened a little? I would like it darker if possible so that the back isn't too far off from the color of the walnut front. The maple neck color is fine as is.

PLEASE DISREGARD MY MESSAGE ON AUGUST 31, 2009 @ 4:19PM
-
Hi Terry; I'm assuming from your post in the Build Record section that you've discussed this with Susan and that your disregard post here is just to avoid any future confusion. If not, and given your statement that Susan says the neck is in the build process, then if you're canceling a neck size change, you should probably call.
-
Dave, I started over with a deluxe MK bass. It has a different neck size. I talked to Susan about this and I believe we are all on the same page.
Thanks for you concern, I appreciate that.
The message posted on August 31st. was about the 1st bass being built and it was a MK standard. There is a new quote and we are moving forward with the MK deluxe model. Thanks

I just love walnut. This is going to look really special when the finish hits.

Hi Terry; congrats and welcome to the board!
-
Thank you for the warm welcome.
This is very exciting to watch this process.
I will practice patience.
Alembic is THE LEGEND in the art of guitar building.
You are nothing short of being great Artist.
I am a huge fan of Stanley Clark and Mark King and they are huge fans of Alembic. That says something!
-
Mica,
I picked out the wood and expressed that in an email to you. Has there been any progress in building my bass guitar yet?
I would love any pictures you may have.
Susan said the neck had been in building process for a few days now. Can you send pics of it also.
Thanks
