Title: "polishing" satin polyurethane finish
Post by: count on September 04, 2013, 12:32:40 AM
Is there any way to/point in polishing or buffing the polyurethane finishes on the Rouges/Epics/Orions etc.?
Unfortunately I'm selling my five string so I want to have it looking pristine for it's departure.

Hi Nicolai; instructions for cleaning and polishing your bass can be found here (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=205).

I have/had that satin finish on my Orion guitar and after a few years of gigging with it it has buffed up to a glossy finish where my hands/clothing have been in contact with the guitar. I actually prefer now that polished look and at some stage when I start playing it more again or decide to sell it,( very unlikely), I will take all the bits off and hit it with a buffer wheel to get it evenly pristine.
Are we gonna get some before and after pics then. :-)

Will do.

I'm waiting on a Liberon package for my #44 btw, hence I haven't uploaded any pics from that rebuff.
