I know you've already seen these (since you picked them out personally), but I caught a picture of these a couple of weeks ago, and thought I shoudl start your thread with the beautiful wood:

Your bass is already assembled, and I'll get those pictures up as soon as I can. Until then, enjoy!

Hi Mica!
Wow it's good to see those lovely bits of cocobolo goodness again, they're even prettier than I remember! The mahogany looks swell too; thank you for posting these-you've made my weekend! Looking forward to the next set of pics!!!

WOW, incredible grain pattern & swirl....can't wait to see this completed & in high gloss. Fantastic choice of woods...really spectacular. Best of luck with her........

That's a stupendous veneer on the headstock, the heel carving looks sweet and the neck lams look fantastic! WooHoo!!
As always, thank you!!!

I like that neck.

Wow, that's one sexy neck!

Dan,
I've been worrying about what the neck on my new bass is going to look like (3x ebony, 2x purpleheart, 6x maple-- switch the ebony and ph on your neck). These pictures, thankfully, settle it for me-- it is going to look awesome, plain and simple.
Congratulations on your beautiful new bass; here's wishing you patience to wait for it!

The color's off in the drying room, but I spied your bass with the sealer coats:

Mica thank you for the photos! What can I say: Curvaceous, inviting, gorgeous! I like how the asymmetrical neck came out, the contrast of the laminations (neck and body), just-wow, simply at a loss for superlatives here! A-and that's a very nice looking Brownie in the background of this latest shot!
Graeme another killer Rogue indeed, thanks! Your fretless 5 pics are looking great BTW, happy playing!
Bradley I'm looking forward to seeing your MK 3x ebony, 2x purpleheart, 6x maple take shape soon and yes patience is a virtue!
Lots of neat stuff in the current FTC: Bruce and Antone's Triple O's, Dale's Lefty, the latest Dire Wolf inlay shots, Gary's Balance K w. DS5 mini-I think we'll all be having a memorable '05!

Woods look excellent!

The woods do indeed look excellent!
Man I had to scrape my jaw off the floor and my scalp of the ceiling! Then I took the jpg into Photoslop, kicked the brightness and contrast up a bit to examine the detail of the grain. Chilled with a zen gaze for a while. What a beauty, thanks!

you know it's in line for upgrade (right after Rami's), but I'm sure you'd like to see it even closer to coming home:

Thanks Mica! It looks fantastic!!
I do have a question about the strings which I've emailed to Val. I assume the switch from a Bird to a Straight tailpiece means that the supplied strings worked out (can't really see at this resolution).
Thanks again,
-dan
-
Email confirmation received: strings worked out fine!
I like the straight tailpiece.
Hope the calibrations go easily (she should 'play nice' with Ron ;-)
Complements and thanks to all involved!!!!!
