Title: Help me test some new webpages
Post by: mica on November 14, 2013, 05:21:54 PM
I've been working on a HUGE amount of new material for the website. It's to the point I need some help testing. Can you check out these pages:

http://www.alembic.com/prod/peghead_bass.html (http://www.alembic.com/prod/peghead_bass.html)
http://www.alembic.com/prod/peghead_guitar.html

and tell me which browser/operating system you're using and if it looks OK. These pages are not yet complete (will they ever be?) but there's enough on them to do the testing.

Bradley Young helped me get the javascript just right. Yay Bradley!

Thanks for your help, I appreciate it very much!

Looks good, magnifies nicely. Mac OS X 10.5.8, Safari 5.0.6

So how do I get extra headstocks to put on my bass to suit my mood that day??!

Works on an i-pad. Version 6.1.3
Safari browser, not sure what version.
Only problem is that it gave me GAS!

Works on I-pad, Version 6.0.1.
Firefox 24.0 browser loaded, but slowly at first. When you hover over the peg head shape a red border is produced prior to clicking on the magnified frame.

Opened magnification complete with caption. Next frame left/right arrow worked fine. Reviewed on Mac 10.6.8, Snow Leopard.

Layout looks great, Mica! Its in a logical sequence and easy to navigate.

A-OK on my MacBook running OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) and loaded/read successfully on both Safari and Google Chrome.  Some really gorgeous headstocks in the bunch!

The main pages look fine on Windows XP 5.1 using Windows IE 8. However, clicking the pegheads only results in the page being shaded and a thumbnail about twice the size of the original. Clicking this has no effect - should it be reproduced the full size of the page? e.g. on the wood samples page if I click a sample I see a full page instrument.
This is on a Dell laptop at work.

Similar as Graeme's comments (slightly enlarged thumbnaiil and shaded main page)here at work.

Dell desktop; Windows 7 (sp1) and Internet Explorer 9.0.21.

The i-pad at home had 'giant' thumbnails and zoomed in with great clarity.

Works fine here at the shop on my venerable Dell desktop running XP and Firefox. Only problem is it makes my head spin.

Looks good on my laptop using Windows 7 home premium with Firefox.  But I think it needs a 12 string knobby in the guitar section!

I'm using apple iMac with safari version Version 7.0 (9537.71)
I can click on the first one and whilst that image is enlarged on the screen I can click the next button or use my cursor keys to scroll left and right through the whole catalogue of pegheads.

Thanks for the help! I'm using a pretty standard javascript so I expected it to be fairly well supported. I'll check into the ones that are not blowing up the thumbnail.

I keep finding more pegheads... I just added a 3+1 Orion, 2+3 Knob and Reverse Elan 5 to the bass page. Now when I run across something, I've got a place to put it.

I will say that one thing I've noticed about the forum is that it does take a fair amount of time for posts to post.
