Title: Symmetrical 'Point'?
Post by: Joey Wilson (bigredbass) on September 26, 2002, 11:17:13 AM
I've often thought of my next Alembic configured like this:
Essentially a 'stock' long-scale 4-string 'Point'
with AXY's but with this twist:  I'd like it with identical body halves.  In other words, I'd like both sides of the body to be the upper wing, not using the normal lower wing with the cutaway.
Have any of you seen one like this, or have you guys built any like this, Mica?  What I'm trying to end up with is a perfectly symmetrical silhouette: 2 keys on a side, identical body shape to the point.  And yes, I am a compulsive straightener !

We have made a handful of basses like this before. Sorry I don't have any photos handy, but at least you know it's possible!
