Title: Is there a book in the future?
Post by: keavin on October 07, 2004, 01:03:23 PM
Just curious about a book (possibly) being written some day by ron or susan,.that would be very entresting to read about the alembic experience over the years of building the worlds finest musical instruments and all of the fine artists who swears by them.

...Maybe a book about the SF-2, too much to write about that, lol.

That would make an awesome coffee table book...better than Kramer's coffee table book about coffee tables...you know, the one that had built-in legs and turned itself into a coffee table? LOL!

Seriously, I'd love to see it, but I doubt they'll do it as they have all they can do to do all the jobs they've already got.

We can ask Mr.Vandelay to talk to Kramer and do some research @ Alembic, and maybe the cover of the book could be a beautifull piece of burl cocobolo. lol

Ahhh...Vandelay Industries! Good Idea. What was the name of the publishing company that Elaine worked for? They could do such a book, LOL!

Val would probably be the best candidate to compile such a book...it's a natural progression for him. He'll probably wanna kill me for volunteering him as I'm sure he already has too much to do as it is.

Vandelay Industries, they're in latex as I remember.  Elaine originally worked for Pendant Publishing, I believe.  Then she went to work for the J. Peterman catalog.  Let us all think back fondly on a great sitcom and reflect on world peace and harmony as the Festivus season approaches.

Mmmmm ...it is something I would do and can do (next to Val of course he IS there!)
I also thought some time about a video-film/documentary -something I could do too (togeteher with a bunch of fellow brothers who have the advantage to live behind the corner).
I don't have the financial reserve to produce this.
Other candidates???

I've long felt that the Wickershams were witnesses to history, at Ground Zero for the presumed counterculture from the West Coast in the 60s.  I know their plates are impossibly full, but a book (NOT a tell all) would be terrific, if they ever felt moved to do it.  Every time I read the 'Long History' I am very moved to imagine what they saw and heard, much less the history of their legacy.

Joey: Ditto my feelings exactly. I feel like Wayne and Garth when talking about Ron and Susan...can I get a genuflecting we're not worthy!?, LOL!

I was a little boy during the Summer of Love and had to wait until ten years after that to fully appreciate the Dead and all the other great bands to come out of that time/are/movement. I always felt gypped by that, so I was paricularly fascinated by Susan's lucid account(s) of the times. As you've stated, I'm sure there's plenty more locked up in Susan's mental archives that I for one would love to see documented.

Bill, TGO: Be careful, all that grappling during Festivus could wreck havoc on the coffee table book/table? LOL!

I know: Vandelay could make the book (A LATEX protective cover should do nicely, LOL!), J. Peterman could market it in their catalogue, and one of Jerry's hot model girlfriends could hawk the thing in comercials, LOL!

Wow, some of US watch way too much TV (guilty as charged! LOL!)

Remember that Mr. Vandelay is an importer - exporter, so we have covered all the market there, lol

Cool tune Seinfeld's, the bass is doing everything, i love to play a little of that on my solos.

He was about to, but then he stopped short with F. Constanza's wife, was badly beaten and lost the deal.

Now that I play bass I don't watch tv so much anymore, honest!
