Title: Ordering from England
Post by: grateful on December 08, 2004, 12:36:16 PM
Can one order a custom alembic from England?  And how do I find out what customisations cost when they're not included in the Custom Quote form?
I'm dreaming of a Further, but would prefer a five position switch than the individual ones for pickup selection (that's what Jerry had after all...).  I also don't think I'd want the effects loop:  I don't much use effects.

Hi Mark, Welcome from another englishman. I don't want to tread on Vals toes here but you generally get a better deal ordering through a dealer. unfortunately, the only uk dealer is graham at Bassworld in maidstone - http://www.psst.co.uk/bassworld/ (http://www.psst.co.uk/bassworld/)

Once you've played with the quote generator in here a bit you'll be able to discuss your requirements with Graham. Don't forget, whichever route you take there will be heavy import duties.

We always tell the customer to go through a dealer, because we have to charge full retail as per our agreement with our distributors; however we prefer talking directly to the customer on custom orders to save time and misundersandings. More often than not the customer will have questions the dealer can't answer, so it's better to talk to us first. Once an instrument is finalized we send quotes to whichever dealer the customer chooses, and then it's between the customer and the dealer.
