Title: Alembic Bass Stand
Post by: tharden on February 27, 2007, 06:42:47 AM
Hi out there!  Tim Harden here of Buzzard Bass.com.  I recently had an Alembic Spyder owner come to me needing a bass stand because the bass is so long.  He's very please with what he bought.  So I just wanted to everyone here know that, if you have an Alembic bass that is too long for the conventional guitar stand (or you don't trust it to hold it securely), feel free to e-mail me about it.  Pictures of the stand can be seen here.  http://www.buzzardbass.com/Stand/Stand.htm (http://www.buzzardbass.com/Stand/Stand.htm)

Thanks!

Tim...

Welcome Tim, a solid, reliable stand is always good news. Many years ago Alembic was a repair shop for guitars that fell out of stands, LOL, thus the pointed bottom on early Alembics forced the player to put it back in the case.  But they are too beautiful to keep hidden all the time.

I believe the problem was people leaning the instrument up against the amp, where it was susceptible to falling.  The point was designed to make people put the instrument in a stand.  The point certainly wouldn't prevent me from putting my guitar into any of the numerous stands that I own, but it would make the amp lean virtually impossible.
