Hi Pierre, last summer I bought an Alembic F-1X from  Ebay in the usa and used QSCPLX-2402 poweramp.

I too have an SC Deluxe and the bass sounds fantastic with that setup. The QSC poweramps are light in weight.

Forgive my French I am using a Translation programme on my apple mac.

Pardonnez mon fran?ais que j'utilise un programme de traduction sur
mon ordinateur.

ok, je comprends. Je pourrais avoir achet? un nouveau QSC mais le
prix et le cahier des charges du mod?le plus ancien ?taient une
meilleure affaire.

(ok, I understand. I could have bought a new QSC but the price and specification of the older model was a much better deal.)

do you know the quality of Peavey PV1500 ?
I can find QSC plx on the web, not new, about 500? but they are on the other side of France and I can't see them...I hope I will find nearer my home.
BUT, the question is not really the quality of power amps, MY question is what is best:
a single SWR workingpro 700 all in one...or alembic preamp and poweramp. I can't try before buying, I just remember that my old system with 2 X F-2B Alembic + Yamaha power amps was nice, but very expensive and big weight !

Hi Pierreyves,
I use a F1-X and SF-2 with a Yamaha P5000S.
It sounds fantastic with my little Euphonic Audio cabs (2x8 and 1x10)!
The Yamaha is not heavy, nor expensive.

Hi Pierre, I've tried a SWR Working Pro 500 at the store many times. It's a nice amplifier and is good for the price.

Pierre,
I know that this is late, but, my Crown D-150 that I have been using since '77 just had a channel die.  My tech suggested that I check out the new Crown XTI series. I found those a little pricey for the amount that I play these days. I did find the XLS series that he also said would be just fine. I settled on the XLS 402, $399.00 at the local Guitar Center, but, I found it on an E-bay store, Digital Shopping Network for $240.00, $30.00 shipping and get this, a $120.00 Crown mail in rebate, total cost $150.00,  300 watts a side @ 8 ohm, 450 @ 4 ohms. It arrived in 3 days.  I tried it Sat. night with my F-2B and my 2 Bag End single 12's. It sounded great, much more power than I'll ever need. At 26 lbs. it is not light, but, not too heavy either. It just seemed too good a deal to pass up.  Good luck with the search. Let us know how you make out.
Kenn

OK, it ain't cheap, but I am completely loving my Euphonic Audio iAmp 800C. Lots of power, lots of eq options. With a Superfilter, it's perfect!

ok, many thanks guys !!
I bought 1 SWR workingpro 400 (400W @ 8 ohms), I will received next month, and I think is enough...I have my Ashdown Mag 300 too. When I will have much money, I will buy the Alembic preamp/poweramp system.

SWR amps (400 & 700) are clipping all the time ... I returned it to the seller (www.thomann.de (http://www.thomann.de))
Finally I bought a light used F1-X and a new Yamaha P 5000 S

Clipping on a SWR - well, the first thing to do on an SWR when you want to play loud is to turn the Aural Exciter to zero. This control does crazy things to the low end, and I wouldn't be surprised if the higher settings can cause clipping.

I have tried several different SWR models and have never liked any of them. I am currently using Gallien Krueger. I am getting a lot of compliments on my tone and the reliability has been outstanding.
