Hi Robin,
I was glad to speak with you today and get the user login straightened out so you can now post on the Club!
Here's what I found out about your bass:
top and back: Satinwood
core: Mahogany
neck: Maple and Purpleheart, 34 long scale
fingerboard: Maple with Abalone inlays
peghead veneers: Satinwood
originally made for: John Lodge, Moody Blues
birthday: April 20, 1980
John sent the bass to us in June of 1981 to have the neck carved down thinner and the bass refinished. He also requested we take the frets down so they were much flatter than the height of the standard jumbo fretwire.
This bass was also featured in the 1980's blue catalog as an example of a Series I bass. It's the last time we published something in a brochure with the words not available under a wood choice. Satinwood is very rare in such wide widths, and there's only a handfull of other basses made from it, most of which are Small Standard body shapes.
There are 2 previous registered owners, both in England. I've added the details you shared with me on the phone today to the file.

Robin; welcome to the board. Sounds like a special bass!! If you care to do so, I'm sure the group would love to see pics of this bass in our Showcase section.
