Hi. I just bought an Alembic bass from my boss yesterday and I'd like to know a little about it, mainly the types of woods it's made of and the history. Thanks.

Hi Jimmy; congrats and welcome!

Hey Dave, thanks for the welcome. I'm really eager to find out some history on my new bass.

Dave, I was looking at your band's website, listening to some tunes, and I must say, I like it alot. I'll be visiting the site again when I get home this evening.

Thanks!

Hi Jimmy,
Here's what I found in the instrument file of your new-to-you Spoiler:
SMB4 Spoiler bass
body: Solid Koa
neck: Maple with Koa peghead veneers, 32 scale
fingerboard: not recorded, but likely Ebony
inlays: not recorded, but likely pearloid
pickups: AXY
controls: volume, filter, 2-position Q switch, 4-position rotary pickup selector switch
originally made for: Pied Piper, WV
birthday: April 26, 1983
The original owner purchased the bass on June 15, 1983 and was in Louisiana.
