I just bought this spectacular instrument yesterday...waiting on it to be shipped here in a few days. Have been trying to find out about the ALE serial number without luck so far. Was told by dealer it was a 2004, and it sure looks almost new. Any info greatly appreciated. Will be posting pics of it soon! Best regards.

whoopsee, that serial number I listed on the thread is the wrong set of digits...I'll post again when I get the bass in my hands again and get that number right. Regards.
-
Hi W.D.; welcome to the board. When you get the corrected number, post it to this thread and I'll correct the thread's title.
-
Okay, got it, it's:
0413341
Thanks,
WD

Just to clarify...there's no ALE on the name plate...just 0413341 and U.S.A. Thanks again!
-
Are there any letters between the 04 and the 13341?
-
Interestingly, no. I have triple-checked, and it's just the numbers and the USA stamp.
-
Well then, rather than a Stanley Clark Signature, this is probably a small body Series I.
-
Wow, fast reply. I was just uploading a pic of the serial number...thanks for the info. I'll send some more pics in a bit.

Hi Will,
The bass is a Stanley Clarke Signature Deluxe model. Not sure why the SC was omitted from the truss rod cover. Can you check on the ledge of the electronics cavity and see if it's missing there too?
Here's what's in the file:
04SC13341 Signature Deluxe SCSB4
top and back: Coco Bolo
accents: Maple laminates
body: Mahogany, hollow construction
neck: Maple and Purpleheart, 30.75 short scale
fingerboard: Ebony with mother of pearl oval inlays, side LEDs in red
pickups: AXY
electronics: Signature
finish: polyester gloss with satin neck feel
originally made for: Ed Roman Guitars
birthday: October 26, 2004
You should register (http://www.alembic.com/cgi-bin/register.pl) your instrument if you haven't already done so.

Yes, there's an SC on the electronics ledge. Thanks for the info.

Could I have the build data for a 1998 5 string Rogue S/N 98Q11327? I am interested in buying it from another club member.
Thanks,
Janet
