Hi there! I've just accquired this little beauty via eBay Germany and I would be interested in as much information as you can give me, please.

If you check out the following thread, you'll see some photographs of it too.

I'd be interested to know two things especially; firstly, have you ever had the instrument in for repair (the control cavity has been modified at some point) and secondly, how would I go about obtaining replacement pick up covers (assuming that they are removable), as the existing ones are very worn and shiny and the lettering is wearing off?

Thanks in advance for your help. It's a real pleasure to be part of a forum, which offers such great support to owners of their product who didn't buy it new. Keep up the good work!

Hi Andy,

Here's what I found in the instrument file for 98Q11268:

top: Flame Maple
accent: Purpleheart laminate
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple with Walnut pinstripes, 34 long scale
fingerboard: Ebony with pearloid oval inlays
pickups: MXY
controls: volume, pan, filter, Q switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono ouput side-mounted
birthday: January 9, 1998
originally made for: Mars Music

There are no records of repair or modification.

The pickup covers are molded in place, meaning they are not replaceable. You might try buffing the ones you have so they have a fresh look. If you prefer the textured look of the original pickups, then you'd have to replace the pickups. You could always save the originals to use on another project someday.
