Title: (x) 822032
Post by: 32fron on September 11, 2006, 10:23:36 AM
I am trying to find out whatever information I can on this 8 string bass.  I have an elderly gentleman that had this built for him and never really used it.  I am trying to sell it for him if you know of any interested parties.  I will be listing it on this forum and then probably on ebay.  Thanks

Could the second 2 be an S instead?

82 2032 would indicate a Series instrument - the 2032 number seems to be in the correct range for 1982.

An S would indicate a Spoiler, but that would have a serial 82S2032

Definitely no Spoiler, this is a series I or II with a Graphite Neck! Is it a fretless? Can't tell from the picture...
Nice bass!

The serial would 82 2032 where the '82' is the year and the rest is the serial. If I see the controls correctly it looks like a Series II. The graphite neck is not common nor do they come up that often.

Mica should be able to give more details from the build record.

Thanks for everyones help in getting the information and helping with posting the pictures.  You can use the link that Eiji posted and see more pictures that I had provided to Nigel in 2004.  I as I originally posted he is looking to sell this again and has lowered his reserve to $6000.  He has fell onto some really bad financial problems and hopes to sell this.  I am moving some of his other equipment for him on ebay my sellers name is dfeinauer6zlo, if you want to see who I am and where it is located.  I haven't posted this on ebay thought I would offer it here first to all of you true Alembic fans.
