Hello, i have just purchased an Alembic Orion 5 and the seller told me this bass has been around for a few years but he couldn't tell me more about it. So i hope you can give me some information about this bass, for example: when was it build etc.

It was built in 1997 - the first two numbers of the serial number tell you what year it was built.  The second two on yours indicate that it is in fact an Orion -  OW is Alembic's factory code for an Orion.
