I don't believe this California Special was obtained illegally; it seems to have been bought on eBay last March. I'm thinking of getting it and having it outfitted with the buffer amp and effects loop. It seems nice, if a bit old. Pictures are posted elsewhere on the Alembic site, at http://club.alembic.com/Images/411/37359.html?1173698357 (http://club.alembic.com/index.php?topic=9234) .
What would be a reasonable price?
Happy Holidays, everyone.

I actually think this guitar is 88C4961 since 4061 was made in 1986 and is a Persuader).
Here's what's in the file for 4961:
top: Quilted Maple
body: Maple, 1.80 thick
neck: 3-piece Maple
scale: 25.5 long
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: Pearloid (plastic)
bridge: Floyd Rose
finish: Cherry Sunburst
birthday: not recorded, but likely late June or early July 1988
originally made for: Rokkomann, Inc., Japan
There is one previous registered owner for this guitar. I sure hope it wasn't obtained illegally. It is clearly marked in the file with a C in the serial number, I believe this was merely an oversight on stamping, it would usually have received a CS designator.
