I'm just curious about what details are available for my baby.  I'm now in the process of arranging to send her back to mother for an electronics upgrade from Elan to signature or anniversary.  Thanks for any info!

This is an interesting bass. Here's what I found:
 
HXLB4 Elan 4-string
top: Flame Walnut
accent: Purpleheart laminate
body: Mahogany (hollowed out)
neck: 3-piece Maple with 2 Walnut pinstripes
scale: 35 extra long
carving: asymmetric, ala Tobias
body shape: JB  
finish: Satin natural polyurethane (oil-look)
pickups: FatBoy
electronics: Elan (for now!)
originally made for: Guitar Villa, PA
birthday: November 9, 1995
 
Looks like a classic taper neck too.
