Mica,
Seen used for sale.
Very interested in but still looking at it.
The History/Build Record would be deeply appreciated.
Especially I'm curious about the scale (long or medium).
Thanks,

I had a 77 Series I with a schedua top (SN 77-744) for a few months a couple of years ago. Although the top was gorgeous, I never could get into the bass's dark tone, which was a primarily a function of the cherry core. Each to their own...

Hi Shoji,
The official build card shows:
top and back: Schedua
body: Cherry
neck: Maple, Beech, Purpleheart
scale: long 34
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: mother of pearl
peghead veneers: Vermilion
birthday: June 23, 1977
originally made for: Rothchild
The dark tone is probably due to the combination of the Cherry core (my bass has this) and the Schedua top and back, which really emphasizes the lows.

I have this 77 now and am interested how it came to UK? Not gigged yet but very soon! My first and an addition to my bass collection. I was surprised at the condition for its age though.

Enjoy that thing!
