Title: (x) 82-2180 Series I
Post by: pacificshine on January 09, 2010, 10:49:46 AM
Would like the factory build information on this instrument and whether or not it has the electronics upgrade (it is unusually quiet in all locations and equipment configurations).  The bass has 2 new pickups.
Thanks, Alan

Here's the details from the file:

top: Bubinga
body: Mahogany
back: Bubinga
neck: 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 32 medium
fingerboard: Ebony
inlays: mother of pearl
originally made for: private individual
birthday: August 17, 1982

There's no note about this instrument getting an upgrade. You can take off the large backplate and see if you find 3 trimpots on the preamp card that are covered with blue stickers (these are not the ones that are adjustable from the outside of the bass).
