Nothing recent and since I started a new job this month nothing on the work pc.  I will post one soon.  It is quilted maple mostly, all the elan photos on the site are much darker than mine.  The only issue with owning this ax is that I am spoiled, and everytime I look at something at a music store I am just dissapointed

That note of disappointment is probably quite common amongst alembic owners. Although some here have a good selection of other basses that they absolutely love as well. I have that problem all the time. When I look in shops at basses now very little attracts my attention and when I do try them they do  not offer me anything new in terms of tone and so I guess i have for bass anyway become Alembic exclusive. I'm a real lover of Elans and have one 4 string that you may have seen on the site.... it's very purple, and another kind of hybrid, Europa body, elan neck all maple body and signature electronics and all black. It has a bit of an identity crisis but a fantastic sound. Apart from the Small standard Body ( Clarkee) the elan is my next fave body shape.

I look forward to some pics when you get a chance.

Patience is a virtue with the serial number/history requests as Mica usually has quite a backlog so a wait of a few months is is quite possible.

No worries about how long Mica takes I just found this forum so I thought I would join in.

I had an Antol custom prior to my Elan, It was a one off from Mike Antol in Canton Ohio, it was like a cross between an Alembic and a Rickenbacker (clarkie style small body but square like a Ric, quilted maple rosewood neck-thru with ebony fretboard, and crappy Duncan pickups) it was cool and felt good but in the end it was at best an Iwannbeanalembic, so I got one, and considering the prices today I am glad I got it before I could actually afford it. HAHAHA!!!

Not sure where the Elan stands in the Pantheon of Alembic but I love the thing, and find it irreplacable.
