Just bought my first Alembic, a 1981 Distillate Bass. Would like to know as much about it as possible, thanks! Tom

Hi Tom,  
 
This is a VERY scant file. All it says is KOA 10-6-81 DMB4
 
So here's where I will fill in the blanks based on the defaults at the time:
 
top: Koa
body: Mahogany
neck: Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 32 medium
fingerboard: Ebony
pickups: AXY
controls: pickup selector, volume, filter, Q switch, bass cut/flat/boost, treble cut/flat/boost, mono output
birthday: October 6, 1981
 
I wish I could tell you or guess more, but there's not a lot to work on with this one. If you post a few images, I can confirm the guesses above and might be able to fill in a few other blanks.
