Here's the details I found out about this bass:

model number: HLB4
top: Quilted Maple
accent: none
body: Maple
neck: 5-piece Maple and Purpleheart
scale: 32 medium
fingerboard: Ebony, 1.650 x 2.323
pickups: JZ
controls: not clearly recorded, either 2 volume and 1 filter or 1 volume, 1 pan, 1 filter, 1 Q-switch.  
originally made for: Rokkomann, Japan
birthday: not recorded, but likely early November 1988
