Hi...new owner here! Mainly interested in what kind of top wood this bass has, but any information would be helpful and fun!
Thanks,
Steve

Steve, Congrats on your new acquisition! While you're waiting for the official look-up. Take a look at the wood samples (http://www.alembic.com/info/woodsamples.html target=_blank) at the Alembic production web site. Post pictures too. Play it Healthy! Art

Thanks Art!
After looking at those, it seems likely that mine is flame walnut, but not positive.
Finest bass I've ever owned!

Let us see it, Steve; we love playing Guess The Top Wood!

Heres a body shot...let me know what you think!(http://club.alembic.com/Images/394/112090.jpg)

Doesn't look like walnut to me (though I could be wrong - walnut has an amazing range of colors/grain patterns) Curly bubinga?

I can see Walnut in some of the grain patterns, but the Bubinga isn't a bad guess either based on some of the coloration.
Whatever it is, it's a gorgeous top.
