Title: Serial number/history request #76-570
Post by: lyla53 on January 13, 2013, 06:48:07 PM
I just put a deposit down on this bass to hold. Any info would be appreciated. Maybe a custom scorpion.
Orange in color (head, neck and body) with maroon striping center bottom front body and center bottom back body, neck and head.  Secondly, the sale does not come with the original power - please advise if one is required and if so where can one be acquired.

Hi,
I know 76-370 with Scorpion body in my archives.
This bass has Birds eye maple top and back in nice aged orange color.

Series instruments have a rep for gobbling batteries, so you'll probably want the power supply; they come up used once in while, or you can get one from Alembic (could build your own, too).  The maroon stripes are purpleheart laminates in the neck; this one is the only one I've seen with the non-parallell ones.  Enjoy it!

I love the purpleheart laminates down by the point! Very unique. Somebody was having fun at the factory!

Now I found another your thread with this bass.
It was appeared on eBay 2006 (reserve not met).
Then it has been hanging on the wall of Guitar Center Vintage shop.

Serial number prints are often difficult to reading.
I checked again other photo in my archive, the serial is looks like 570.

he case paint may offer a clue - Larsen-Feiten Band. Buzzy certainly was around - I wonder how much time this bass followed him.(http://club.alembic.com/Images/394/147826.jpg)
