Hi all,
I have a Skylark that plays great, except it has some buzz on high E on frets 1 - 9 and on the low E on frets 1 - 3. Then, the action could be lower on the other strings.
I've already had it at the local shop once, they fixed the problem, but as soon as I changed the strings, it came back again.
I've tried fixing it myself, and no matter what I do to the truss rod, nut, or bridge, I can't get the buzz to go away. I've checked the FAQ forums, and I'm still having problems. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

It is a bit buried in the FAQ section, but here's a link to the ultimate post on this subject - Joey's Post on Setting Up Your Bass

Don't be scared, it applies 100% to guitars as well, and it's no different on a set neck than on a neck-through.
Q to Dave Houck - could we add some subsections in the FAQ, perhaps add some fixed links, rather than the message board approach? The thread titles are not always totally clear.

Adriaan; send me an email.

James suggests that you loosen the truss rods a little. But he's curious if when you changed your strings, did you replace them with the same brand and gauge?
If loosening the rods doesn't improve your string buzzing situation, take the guitar to your local shop and have them call us so we can help them troublshoot.
