It was bound to happen! Follow us on Instagram to see various interesting things. Lots of stuff I'll put there doesn't quite fit in the Club, so it should be fun.

Been enjoying seeing the pics in my Instagram feed! Not sure how many people here at the Club are on Instagram, but it's fun - the filters can give your pictures a different look - and don't forget to tag your pics #alembic #alembicbass etc.!
-
Thanks, Harry! I'm having fun clicking away at a few pictures here and there. Glad you are enjoying them.
-
hi mica
thanks for following me!! i enjoy your pics!
ive been hashtagging anything related to #alembic
J
-
I have been enjoying the pics too!
-
me tooo!
I love the extra eye candy.
-
I don't know what instagram is and vaguely aware of hashtag - but not sure how it works. . . .
I also don't own a cell/smart phone, which I believe is somehow related? I think I need a pre-teen in my household to get me up to speed with technology.
-
I look at Instagram as a fun way to be able to post pictures - definitely cellphone/smartphone related.
You should be able to look at the Alembic Instagram page on your computer though - Mica has been posting some really cool stuff!
-
You don't even need to sign up.I won't sign up cuz' of the facebook connection.
I'm viewing with my computer...works great!
-
Also a no cell/smart phone owner here, I hate those things. (tried to fix my Dad's, almost ended up smashing the damn thing) :-) Not for me...
I would like to follow the Alembic instagram and be able to comment though, any way to do that from my trusted old Laptop?
Great pics btw, keep 'em coming! :-)
-
No way to comment unless you are a Facebook or Instagram member.
If you wanna dance, you gotta pay the band.

-
But.... it's free. Welcome to the hashtag world, #gentlemen.
-
I'm a facebook abuser, but don't see how I can log in with my facenbook account on instagram...
-
From Instagram I believe you can join via your Facebook account - Instagram was acquired by Facebook within the past year or so - come over to the dark side... (insert Darth Vader emoji here)
-
I did a search and it seems you must first make an account through an app on a phone, then you can log in with your facebook account...
It's highly unlikely I will get a phone in the next 80 years, so that means only viewing for me until they change their policy... :-(
-
For those without Instagram, I'll slip a pic or two on this thread to help keep you up to date!

This is a cool inlay we just popped in a Further peghead today. Every little piece is hand cut, even each individual tooth! This looks so amazing in person, and it looks pretty awesome in the snapshot from my phone.
-
Thanks Mica ! Kool ! It seems like I know that guy on the motorcycle quite well .
-
Sooo Cool !!
Those boots look a bit my favorite sneakers.
I hope we can get a glimpse of more in time.
Thanks Mica

Those boots look kinda like my favorite sneakers.
I hope we can get a glimpse of more in time.
Amazing,Thanks Mica

hello mr flip,
there is a workaround to not having a phone, you need an emulator that will run the app on your desktop machine. The popular one appears to be bluestacks, looks like they may want a small subscription fee. I can't tell if there is a trial period or not. There might be other programs too.
Looks like google has an emulator in their developer package, which is free, here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html (http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html)
You would only need the emulator once, to install the instgram app and then sign up using your facebook. After that you just use the desktop.
-
Thanx!
-
That inlay is awesome!! I love it!! Thanks, Mica
-
Wow, very cool inlay!
-
I'm gonna try and remember to drop the Instagrams here too!
@alembicguitars
Today this lovely Further guitar landed at Bass Central in Florida. It's got all the right wood in all the right places.

Only the second Ziricote Further guitar made, arriving at Bass Central in Florida soon. #alembic #guitar #ziricote #madeinusa

Beautiful Further! Great contrast and a cool swirly figure on the top.
-
I love the new side by side shots with the logo!

Welcome to our newest dealer, @theguitarsanctuary in McKinney, TX. They will soon be receiving their first Alembic, this lovely Darling in a rich dark Coco Bolo. #alembic #guitar #cocobolo #darling #madeinusa
-
Beautiful guitar, nice rich color in the Cocobolo. Especially like the thin pinstripes in the neck laminate. Someone is going to be quite happy.
-
A beautiful guitar indeed! I love the contrast between the Coco Bolo and the Maple.
-
Alembic on Instagram is the best thing that happened to social media. But it has to continue to be shop shots and not just of the month kind of stuff.
The more in progress the better.
-
Thanks! I share all kinds of photos, there's sure to be more finished instruments and random stuff around the shop. Here's a few of recent posts:

New bass for Rami? (second pic)
Awesome!
-
New bass for Rami? (second pic)
Awesome, thanx!
-
Not for Rami - this one has ever more Ebony than his basses. I think it's only the second instrument with Ebony as the primary neck wood. It's gonna be very special
-
And heavy :-)
And if I'm not mistaken my first double post! :-)
(I checked again and again, not enough apparently) :-)
-
How do you expect it to sound like, Mica?
-
Well, it's an Essence, so it won't be as heavy as it could be. What I expect is ridiculous fundamental sustain, massive bass response, and a weigh-in of about 11.5-12 pounds.
-

I?m smiling at the wedge under the clamp. You got unique materials laying around ? you make unique wedges ? with accent laminates. I love the details.
(ps. This could be a novelty sale item ? everybody has a door wedged open ? now you can do it with style. I?m just saying?)
-
+1 on the shots from the shop. If I ever make it back out to California, I'd love to visit there... *eventually* I'd get to the showroom, but the shop is where the cool stuff happens!
-
Just a little update to get you over to Instagram if you aren't already following @alembicguitars there
-
My wife started an Instagram page for our farm; I am following Alembic now! :-D
But what do the hashtags do?
I can't put it on a pin under a glass. . . :-/

You can click on the hashtags and see other pictures marked with the same hashtag. Just click around, you can start at one of Mica's posts and go off on a journey through all kinds of hashtags. Some hashtags have thousands of posts (#alembic has almost 5000 right now!), others may only have a few. When you post your own pictures you can have fun coming up with hashtags too.
-
This is one I just shared on Instagram. I try to find something interesting everyday to post there.
-
As I've perused the Instragram photos, the thing that amazes me (and I totally appreciate) the most is seeing Alembic employees positioning templates for various parts of basses and guitars based on what aesthetically looks the best rather than on how many headstocks, or front or back lams they can get out of a piece of wood. That's the "art" that is well worth the price we pay for these works.
-
Fascinating, -amazing really- the attention to the smallest detail here. Very well done. More and more I think my bass-to-be is boring with a capital B by these standards. (which will of course be perfect match for me! ;D) Still, Wow... the possibilities are astounding.
That dog in the inlay reminds me of Mom & Dad's little dog, Zelda. She is a Boston Terrier, but by the color, I'm guessing that is a French Bulldog.
-
I haven't been posting much on Instagram the last couple of weeks, just winding up the school year. Kids sure get busy as they get older! Anywhoo, here's some nice eye-candy for those who haven't decided to go Instagramming, I present to you...
-
The chocolate quilted maple is beautiful! The fretboard color goes nicely with the maple, is it rosewood or something else? Cool bass.
-
Rumour has it the fingerboard is Pau Ferro. Yummy!
-
I love it! I thought it was fretless when I first saw it on IG - I love the look of no markers on the fretboard on a fretted bass. I had an idea - could fret markers be removed and replaced with matching ebony?
-
A fun picture of a custom bass going to France shortly (as soon as we get the export cleared with Fish & Wildlife!)
-
Interesting electronics configuration, Mica... variation on Signature?
-
It's actually the Anniversary configuration, so two volumes, two filters, two Q switches, stereo/mono switch and pickup selector. Plus a switch for the LEDs.
Scrumptious!

Ah... I see now, switches at the bottom of the knob array. ;)
Don't guess I've ever seen a Rogue with that package.
Beyond Custom. ;D
-
What's it say on the truss rod cover????
-
What's it say on the truss rod cover????
The serial number and the owner's name, hand engraved by James.
-
Sometimes I forget not EVERYONE is on Instagram, so I wanted to share this vintage picture with the Club today.
-
Baby Michael! ;D
[ducks quickly]
-
Very nice :)
-
:-*

Cute!!
-
Very cool picture!

Very nice picture!

Nothing beats Mom pictures. But I was going to ask . . . . . Mica, what was the story of that pic of you 4 or 5 years later than this pic with you next to a tiny Alembic?
-
That is very cool! Thank you for sharing...
-

I'm not sure what picture you're thinking of, Joey. If it's this one below, that it was me pouting doing my first job of "guitar stand" when I would have rather been over at the creek playing with pollywogs!
-
:)
That was such a cool picture when it came up on Mark's thread... I must have shown it to a dozen people when explaining about the little family-run company that was building my bass. "...and this little girl grew up to be the General Manager."
Did you ever do a follow-up picture posed with the bass after it was restored?
-
That bass is working too well and too often for me to send it back for a follow up picture, but Mica, if you make it East sometime, let me know and we'll do a photo shoot!
(also, want to send out the ebony fretless for some love and care - sent you an email, would love to work out details).
Mark
-
Yes m'am, that's the one. OK, I had it backwards: An Alembic and a tiny YOU !
All the Best to you, your mom, and your aunt. Miss you guys !
-
So this is a pretty fantastic guitar I put on Instagram today. The inspiration is a red and black race car.
-
Very nice!
-
That's gorgeous
-
Utterly amazing! I love the back of the headstock (well, all of it, really).
-
Mind-blowing artistry. Goodness! :)
-
Very Nice! :)
-
Beautiful. When I look at your work, it's just inconceivable. Congrats on another masterpiece!
-
This is truly amazing. But I just know the next one Mica torments us with will be even closer to perfection!!!
-
I love it.
-
Time to update those who don't gram on the Insta...
-
So sweet.
Those rays are electric! WoW :D
-
Beautiful guitar! Any connection to the FC
Tribute Further "Ripple"?
(well, technically I guess they're all connected... ::) )
-
Beautiful guitar!
-
OMG!!!!! Beauty is not enough!
I hope you don't mind me saying this Mica but I see angry dog face with ears in that first picture. The teeth are the tailpiece and bridge the nose is the bridge pickup with eyes either side and the ears are the lower and upper horns. ::) :-[ :-X

Oh yeah... now that you said it I can’t unsee it, a snarling dog for sure! :D
-
That's beautiful, Mica! It would make a great wall poster! But then, I'm partial to the Tribute body style anyway. (re: Custom Tribute 5 Burl Maple Bass)... :)
-
Another beaut landed at his forever home yesterday!! These snapshots went on Facebook and Instagram today.
-
Wow!
That is a top 5 favorite for sure. Gorgeous!!!!!!
-
That inlay!!!
-
Love for Dragons! 8)
-
Wow - what a beauty!!!
-
Some of those inlay pieces are so small I can't imagine how they are found on the workbench after they are cut!
-
Gosh that is so rad!!
-
Very nice! :)
-
Exquisite! What a masterpiece!
