i have a p/j set up of Alembics with volume, pan, and a fliter, i didn't have the connectors so i soldered the pickups to the connectors and to my luck, it didn't work. me and my dad have been trying to figure it out, how do you ground the pickups? if you touch the input jack, it makes popping noises but as soon as you plug it in, there's nothing. so please help me out with this

Taylor, you should post some pictures of what you've done so that the electronics gurus can see where the trouble might be.

Okay, I have same set up on my old 83 Squier P bass.
As far as I can remember the shield wire should go to the larger pin, the 'hot wire' to the smaller.
Alembic activators do not need grounding as they are not passive.
But having said that we all need picks to ascertain the advice we give.
