hi,
I was hoping to get any advice or recommendations. im having a nasty hiss with my SF2 and i'd appreciate any help.
My current setup is F1X --> SF2 --> Stewart 2.1 --> Acme 4ohm cab
the SF2 is in the effects loop of the F1X: effects send --> channel A in, channel B out --> effects return.
after reading up on other threads, i had made sure that there was a good contact in the effects loop of the F1X by inserting the 1/4 jack in and out to clean the contacts...hiss is still there.
then i gave this setup a try.
effects send --> channel A in, channel A out--> effects return.
much less hiss in channel A
i did the same with channel B and i found the hiss again.
*another thing to note is that when i turn up the filter gain on channel B, the hiss gets louder.
*also, [channel B out input] seems like somethings slightly loose inside causing the 1/4 connector to have some slight play or movement.
so far it sounds great, just that hissss is concerning me and im considering sending it to alembic to have it serviced
I just picked this up used and im still learning all its functions so any help would be appreciated.

Try the SF-2 after the F-1X and not in the loop. The F-1X is expecting a low-level effector unit, and the SF-2 is higher gain than it's expecting.
Let me know if that makes any difference (it should!).

awesome! that makes sense. i tried it out and it reduced the amount of hiss quite abit. thanks for the input.
any other advice or recommendations is welcomed!

I like to run my SF-2 from DS5-R to F-2B . I use it 2 channel. It seem to work well that way.
