Hi, can anyone recommend someone in central NJ who can do justice to my 1982 Distillate?  I need some intonation work done...

I always suggest as a good 'barometer' for guitar techs:  Find out who the working pros go to.  When you're depending on an instrument to make a living and you don't do the work yourself, you're gonna find out quick who you can depend on.  If you know cats that play out all the time and repsect their work, see who they go to when they need things taken care of.
 
While I do my own setups, I send major surgery or electronic work to professionals.  Now, Nashville is a lot better off than most as we have so many players (and good techs) here.  But I'm more than willing to pay a qualified guy his rate to see after my Alembics.
 
So while I'm at it, let me give a shout-out to Greg Krochman and his service, www.classicax.com (http://www.classicax.com), here in Nashville.  I have NO reservations about leaving my Alembics in his hands, hope you can find someone you can trust as well.

Rickbass - BigRedBass (aka Joey) has written a great set up instruction(I have just suggested this to someone here in the past 2 minutes.)
Go to the FAO & Must Reads then Joey's Set Up for Bass.
Read it once, then twice, then again with your bass in front of you. It is not as difficult as you think
