The LEDs on my MK SS BK 5er have started to blink out especially when playing the B string and if you barely touch the toggle switch. What is likely up? Battery issue? It was purchased new and has little playing time on it and it has been babied.

Scott:
Have you exercised the switch? Try quickly flicking it on and off about 50 times or so. Does that help?

Since they are wired in series it could be that either as Ibpesq suggested(the switch) or(I hope not) as faulty led or wiring break.
Try a battery replacement and then the switch exercise and hope it isn't the latter

I second Bill's suggestion with exercising the toggle. I just recently went through the same situation with my brown bass. If the switch is not used frequently enough oxidation can build up on the contacts. By exercising the switch you clean the contacts.
When the batteries go the LED's lose their brightness and eventually go out.

I have the same issue on my Elan/Europa bass although mine seems to be related to the switch. I have to flick it on and off a few times before they stay on but once on they stay on and once off they stay off.
I don't use the led's much so probably exercising may be required.
Thanks for reminding me. :-)

Thanks for the advice. As the bass is at my other home, I will try that this weekend.
As an aside, when people see the LEDs they go wild. Some take pics with their phones. It is remarkable how many have never ever seen an Alembic. They are usually severly impressed.

I agree there redcloud, mine were retro fitted by SIMS, the band love them and the crowd find it impressive
