Hey Folks,
I do eventually want to send my new(used)Mark King Deluxe 5'er to the Mother-ship for a tuneup, but I just got her and was hoping there is someone here on Long Island or NYC that has experience with Alembics, that is a craftsman and trustworthy. Thanks.

Craig,
I have sent only the electronics back to the Mother Ship with good results. Make sure you pack them up correctly for best results. (Mary can guide you well on this journey)

Thanks Pete, Just want to have someone somewhat local crown and level the frets, I can do a setup. I have heard the turn around for the Mother Ship, depending on the work needed, can be up to 6 months, and being I just got this beauty, I will not be sending it off anytime soon. Not until I get another Alembic....lol.

At Rudy's Music in NYC (48th Street), Jeremy Perks is great! He services Will Lee's basses, as well as Jimmy Vivino's guitars. No one that I have ever used sets up a bass with as low an action without buzzing as he does. He also did a heat press on a Fender bass I have with terrific results. He works on all of my Alembics. I do not trust anyone else with adjusting them.

Excuse my ignorance and the possible hijacking of the thread, but what does exactly a heat press does?

Thank you Steve, I will definitely take the bass and other basses to Jeremy perks. Thank you so much!!! I am guessing a heat press is used for straightening necks, particularly neck-rise, something Fender basses are known for....that is a guess though.

I suggest you call to make sure he is in when you go to Rudy's. He techs for Will Lee when the Fab Faux tour. The tel # is 212-391-1699. If you want, I can try to meet you and make sure makes you happy or I will bust his.... Seriously I am willing to meet you if needed. You are correct about the neck heat press as well.

Thank you Steve, I will give you a heads up when I head out to Rudy's, probably a few weeks from now. You have any idea what the average turn around time is for some fret leveling and a setup?Thank you so much for the hook up and warm welcome to Alembic.

It all depends on his schedule. That is why I wanted to meet you, and let Jeremy know you come under the umbrella that I offer to him. Unless he is touring or on vacation, he is usually pretty quick. I look forward to meeting you.
