The controls on an Orion are volume, pan, treble, bass. Is the Alembic low-pass filter always on? Does it even have the filter? On my Distillate, there's a toggle switch to turn it on and off.

Terry,
I don't believe there is a low pass filter on the Orion? I could be wrong in the sense that the bass and treble controls may incorporate it in some way.
I to have a Distillate and at some point would like to change the on/off Q switch with a 3 way.
Peace
Pete

Hey Pete, Thanks for your quick reply! On an Essence, the treble knob seemed to incorporate the filter - no on/off switch. I'm guessing that the Orion electronics are similar to the Essence's.

No worries Terry, there is a great group here with 1 thing in mind Great Instruments!
The Essence does have a low pass filter for sure. You might want to check out this link for more details on each instrument.

I  an see how you would hear the filter knob as a treble knob, certainly on an Essence, which normally has no Q-switch, and  has the 8 dB boost permanently engaged. But a low-pass filter is a completely different kettle of fish.

The standard Essence package is just 3 pots (volume, pan, filter). The standard Orion package is 4 pots (volume, pan, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut).
