Take a look at Joey's Post on Setting Up Your Bass, the last entry in the Must Reads section of the forum.

Without really doing a setup, the quickest way is to adjust the bridge downward and eighth or quarter of a turn equally on each side.  Go in tiny movements of the height screws and try to keep the C and E strings the same clearance where they pass over the high end of the fingerboard.

Make sure you're tuned up and doing this in a sitting position.  Do NOT lay it on its' back with the headstock propped up!

BTW, here's a great fretless set-up tutorial from someone who knows his way around one, Gary Willis:

I agree with Bill - and with Joey. You can't go wrong with Joey's advice, in my book.  I just spent the afternoon adjusting the truss rods to true my bass up as the weather changes to winter here, and once again, just by following Joey's setup advice my bass is feeling just great.

Thanks everyone for the tips.   I did read/watch both of the suggested tutorials, found them both helpful.   I ended up simply lowering the bridge at both side and it did the trick just fine.   Everything else stayed pretty much right in line, tunes up nicely, plays and feels great, I could even lower it a little more but for now I like where it is.
